Terra Santa Scouts Group concludes its annual scout camp with "confident steps"
the Terra Santa Scouts Group concluded its scout camp, which was held on the grounds of the YMCA - Beit Sahour, and about two hundred individuals from all sections of the group participated in it.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Bethlehem, Mr. Hanna Hanania, a member of the Beit Sahour Municipal Council, Mr. Laith Qumsiyeh, members of the Palestinian Scout Association, the Bethlehem Governorate Commission, representatives of institutions and associations, and a large number of the families of the participating individuals.
The ceremony began with a minute of silence for the souls of the martyrs of Palestine. The national anthem was played by the group’s bagpipe band. Then the group’s leader, George Kanawati, recalled the martyrs of Palestine, the last of whom were the martyrs of Jenin camp who rose up in defense of their land. The closing ceremony included several other segments, including a segment on playing the oud, presented by scouts George Salibi and Maxim Al-Ali, a segment of descending, climbing, walking on ropes, and a segment of self-defense under the supervision of the ranger Maurice Gideon, and a segment of Dabkeh presented by the Girl Guides under the supervision of the rescuer Hana Hazboun.
Then certificates of participation and badges were distributed to the participating individuals and shields of appreciation were distributed to all the people and institutions who supported the group during the camp period and the previous period, as well as the distribution of shields to the best individuals, sexts and vanguards during the camp period.
The ceremony was concluded with a reading from the Holy Bible read by the scout, Yazan Manneh.
In the end, the audience gathered around the flagpole, completed the lowering process, and performed the song "Let's See You Tomorrow".
It is noteworthy that the camp lasted from June 24 to July 4 for all sections of the group, and included many activities and events that polished individuals and built their personality.
