Group of Apostles of Divine Mercy
With the blessing of His Excellency Bishop William Shomali, Deputy Patriarch of Jerusalem, and under the patronage of Father Rami Asakrieh, parish priest of St. Catherine Church of Bethlehem and spiritual guide of the Divine Mercy community in the parish.
A meeting of the members of the groups of the Apostles of Divine Mercy in Bethlehem, Beit Jala, and Beit Sahour - in a joint spiritual meeting, in the Franciscan Family Center, in preparation for the feast of Saint Faustina, Apostle of Divine Mercy, which falls on October 5.
We gathered as one family in the church to prostrate to the Most Holy Eucharist, pray and meditate, and recite the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, as we raised prayers for the whole world, so that Jesus Christ would be every source of hope and confidence. Praying in light of the current circumstances and the great challenges that the whole world is going through on the economic, social, psychological and spiritual levels.
After welcoming His Excellency the Bishop and thanking us for his presence and constant support for us, the Bishop, in turn, welcomed all the attendees and shared with them an encouraging word in which he spoke about the necessity of paying great attention to the message of divine mercy and continuing to pray and work to spread it. Then a short film about the life of Saint Faustina was shown.
Starting with a lecture by His Excellency Bishop William Shomali on a topic from the Bible about “The Faith of the Canaanite Woman,” where he said that Jesus Christ teaches us through the Canaanite woman the power of faith and trust and to care about every suffering person and pray for him, “Pray for one another so that you may be healed.” It also teaches us to be open to the magnificence of God’s message that we carry as messengers of divine mercy to all people, and not to distance anyone from the Kingdom. Since we all need God’s mercy, let us cry out with the Canaanite woman in faith, “Have mercy, O Lord! Help us, O Lord!”
In conclusion, we ask God to confirm His love in our hearts and for this love to increase more and more every day. and that
We always strive to spread the message of mercy to all people, by devoting our service to physical and spiritual works of mercy, and publishing the book Divine Mercy Within Me - The Diary of Saint Faustina - the Apostle of Divine Mercy.
